I will start this by asking my potential puppy people when you yourself have children can you guarantee the color of your child's eyes, hair, their built, can you guarantee their size or their health (to some degree)? So as a breeder can we guarantee these factors when we put two dogs together to produce puppies? We can only hope by looking at a pedigree to produce what we are looking for. I ask you this because a puppy stems from his or her pedigree (what is in the pedigree from present to past) and what lies in that pedigree: size, conformation, health and so on. I believe that everything in a dog is hereditary from the size to the color of the nails. Breeders cannot really guarantee anything due to the recessive (what will come to the surface from the past) factors in a pedigree; what we can do is stand behind our puppies and learn from each breeding we do.

I cannot guarantee the size of my puppies but I can say this. I am working towards breeding for the giant malamutes, but all my potential puppy people must know that the history of the malamute there comes a time in all pedigrees that a show malamute (standard) will be in his or her pedigree this is in ALL malamutes. We try to take this from the puppy's possibilities by breeding giants over years, but it is not to say that it will not pop up from time to time. Just as those breeders that breed for color they can try and try but somewhere in that pedigree there will be another color that may arise in the present.

Puppy buyers must know that it's not what you see but what lies behind your puppy that makes them what they are. Dogs in general breed true but much further back in their family trees (pedigrees). So when you buy a puppy from me or any other breeder please take this into consideration. It is just like those people who test and swear by testing first off testing does not guarantee any type of health it is just face value saying that the parents themselves are free from genetic defects, but dogs of our past were not tested because testing did not exist back then but it did not stop those breeders of our past breeding to make it possible for me or any other breeder out there from breeding today.
